GT receiver to the Pats

After being waived by the Bills, receiver Jonathan Smith has been picked up by the New England Patriots. Smith was a seventh round draft pick out of Georgia Tech, who started one game during his tenure with the Bills. He will most likely serve as insurance, should the Pats consummate a trade sending star holdout WR Deon Branch elsewhere.
