I Want to Throw Up...
...after watching my Jackets crap the bed on the road AGAIN vs. the Twerps. Ok, where do I begin? First of all Paul Hewitt is responsible for shaving about 5 years of my life from the stress of watching this team attempt to play.
What went right
- Thad Young looked like a stud on the offensive end...too bad it could end up in him leaving.
What went wrong
- We still can't take care of the G.D. ball. We give away turnovers around like halloween candy.
- 6-16 from the line...ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME!!!!!
- While I love his hustle and his defense hustle, Mario is being forced to play WAY too many minutes. He clearly is neither a passer or a scorer. He is PERFECT as a spot defender and an energy guy. He is just being asked to do way more than hes capable.
- D'Andre Bell is a effing ZERO on the offensive end and he should NEVER touch the court. I know he's a guy that hustles his arse off in practice, but eff him. Sounds mean, but I hope he transfers. This is not the first mean statement of my life, so I don't feel bad.
- Muha is a lock for crapping the bed in the spotlight. He's a great athlete but consistently looks afraid out there.
I am pretty much unhappy with the entire team including our coach. I know how supremely talented they are, but how they continuously let me down. Reminds me alot of a certain #1 that took snaps the last 4 years. I didn't expect us to beat UNC on the road, they are a great team. But I expected us to AT LEAST be competive at UMD. When I check into AA, send Coach Hewitt the bill.

Agree with most of your post. Hewitt has done a horrible job this year as a coach.
We average five turnovers a game from out of bounds plays.
We average 20 to's a game if I am not mistaken.
Although they are good on the offensive end, Thad, Dickey and Morrow are liabilities on the defensive end and do nothing but stand around on the offensive end calling for the ball.
Opposite is true with Bell and West. The shouldn't be dribbling the ball at all. But they play great D.
Losing Clinch hurts so much because he can and will score at will. Thad has great skills but stands around the perimeter until we are down by 15 and then starts to drive and work inside. He needs to do that from the get go.
Crit dribbles too much and takes too long to get the ball up the court. And he has trouble with faster players.
Hewitt still works off 3-4 offensive sets at the most. And has only 1...yes 1...play when up against a zone defense...and every ACC team knows it. If we are not out in transition, our offense is so-so at best.
I actually like Bell and would like to see him play more. He plays better D than anyone but Mario and can match up against multiple sizes. He has a very good mid range jumper. But his confidence sucks cause he only plays a couple of minutes a game.
Dickey's only good game was against Duke when coach K played him one on one. He usually averages more to's than fg's if you double team him.
The bad coaching and turnovers make me frustrated. But the lack of desire and effort are killing me. Winning on the road are about those two things. We are constantly getting outhustled down the court on both ends. No help defense. Out of bounds plays. Stupid decisions. Stand around offense. All of this talent is going to waste.
I wouldn't worry about Thad leaving right now. Most places have his stock dropping well out of the lottery and into the late first round. He can't decide if he wants to be a 3 or a 4. Either way he plays offense and defense like a 2. They don't seem to like that in a very deep draft.
Maybe we should put in a flex offense to force Thad to the block where a 4 should be playing and to take advantage of our athleticism. Then break out the football pads at practice to toughen them up on defense. We need an attitude change. We need an f'ing identity.
