• Reggie Ball set a school rushing record by a quarterback with 130 yards against Troy last Saturday. Ball ranks tied for sixth among ACC rushing leaders with an average of 64.7 yards per game. But Ball continues to have his problems as a passer. Through three games, the senior has completed 50.7 percent (35-of-69) of his passes. His five touchdown passes are tied for second in the ACC, but his three interceptions are also second in the conference.
• With Miami reeling, the Yellow Jackets have a better chance to win the Coastal Division title in the ACC. "I always think we'll compete for the title," said coach Chan Gailey. "The key is to win. If you win your conference games, it doesn't matter what everybody else does. Take care of yourself, that's the key."
